Establish a Solid Foundation for Learning

Academic Booster strengthens the four subjects Mathematics, Science, Chinese and Malay. We reinforce learning that is done in school or discover learning gaps a student might have.

Mathematics

We recognise the significance of a strong foundation in Mathematics, and our curriculum is meticulously designed to unlock the full potential of every student.

Singapore’s CPA Method

Our Math curriculum is grounded in the renowned CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) method pioneered by Singapore. This methodology begins with Concrete experiences, where students manipulate physical objects to understand mathematical concepts. Pictorial representations follow, aiding in the transition from the tangible to the abstract. Finally, students engage with abstract symbols, ensuring a gradual and thorough understanding of mathematical principles at each stage.

Emphasis on Conceptual Understanding

We go beyond traditional teaching methods by placing a profound emphasis on ensuring that students truly grasp the underlying concepts of Mathematics. Our instructors guide students to explore the ‘why’ behind mathematical procedures, fostering a deep comprehension that transcends mere memorisation. This approach not only enhances problem-solving skills but also lays a robust foundation for advanced mathematical concepts.

Problem-Solving Focus

Our Math curriculum is crafted to cultivate problem-solving skills. Instead of rote memorisation of steps, students are encouraged to approach mathematical challenges as critical thinkers. They learn to analyse problems, devise multiple solution strategies, and articulate their thought processes. This emphasis on problem-solving not only enhances academic performance but also equips students with a valuable skill applicable in various aspects of life.

Incorporating Real-World Examples

To bridge the gap between theory and practical application, our Math lessons seamlessly integrate real-world examples. Students explore how mathematical concepts manifest in everyday scenarios, making the subject more relatable and applicable. Whether it’s calculating proportions in cooking or understanding geometric principles in architecture, our curriculum ensures that Math becomes a tangible and engaging part of students’ lives.

Science

We believe that Science education should be a captivating journey of discovery. Our Science curriculum is meticulously designed to ignite curiosity, promote hands-on exploration, and foster a genuine passion for the wonders of the natural world.

Inquiry-Based Learning

Our Science curriculum is built upon the principles of inquiry-based learning, where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore hypotheses, and actively participate in the scientific method. Through thought-provoking experiments and interactive demonstrations, students not only learn scientific principles but also develop the skills to think critically and independently.

Hands-On Experiments

We understand the power of hands-on experiences in solidifying scientific concepts. Our instructors facilitate a variety of experiments that allow students to engage with Science in a tangible and memorable way. These experiments cover a spectrum of scientific disciplines, providing a holistic understanding of scientific principles from physics to biology.

Analysing and Interpreting Data

Scientific literacy goes beyond memorising facts; it involves the ability to analyse and interpret data. In our Science classes, students are guided through the process of collecting and interpreting data from experiments. This not only enhances their understanding of scientific concepts but also nurtures analytical skills crucial for success in scientific endeavours.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving

Our Science curriculum emphasises the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students are presented with real-world scenarios and scientific challenges, encouraging them to apply their knowledge creatively. By fostering a mindset of inquiry and problem-solving, we prepare students to tackle complex issues and contribute meaningfully to the scientific community.
